Anthropic today announced the launch of Claude Fable 5, a Mythos-class model that it says is safe for general use. According to Anthropic, Fable 5’s capabilities exceed those of any model it has made generally available, and Fable has demonstrated “outstanding performance” in software engineering, knowledge work, vision, scientific research, and more. It outperforms Opus models on longer and more complex tasks. Fable 5 can operate autonomously longer than any previous Claude model. One of the main differences is the new on-screen gesture you can use to summon Siri. While methods like long-pressing the power button or saying “Hey Siri” remain, the way you tap or swipe your finger on the screen to bring up the assistant has changed. Instead of double-tapping the bottom of the screen to tap Siri, you now swipe up from the top center, just like you would have had to swipe down for Spotlight search in the past.
