Apple Executive Chairman Tim Cook is expected to attend a state dinner at the White House in honor of Chinese President Xi Jinping, reports Bloomberg.
Cook resigned as CEO of Apple and became executive chairman on September 1, with John Ternus taking over. Part of Cook’s new role involves collaborating with policymakers around the world.
US President Donald Trump invited Cook, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, among others. The dinner will take place next week during Xi’s visit to Washington.
Cook attended several state dinners with Xi. Earlier this year, Xi hosted a state dinner for Trump in Beijing, attended by Cook, and in 2015, Cook sat next to Xi at a state dinner hosted by then-President Barack Obama.
