Pre-orders for Sony desktop speakers open September 1.
It’s been almost a year since Sony announced its Pulse Elevate desktop gaming speakers and the company is about to send them out into the world. The latest addition to the PlayStation audio lineup will be available on November 12 and will cost $220. Pre-orders open September 1 on PlayStation Direct and at third-party retailers. The speakers will be available in White and Midnight (black) to match other PlayStation accessories.

The speakers feature planar magnetic drivers that Sony says can “reproduce sound with near-perfect accuracy across the entire audible spectrum, so you can hear games exactly as the developers intended.” They also feature woofers and a microphone that can suppress background noise, as well as Tempest 3D AudioTech support for spatial audio and low-latency PlayStation Link connectivity. They come with a PlayStation Link USB-C adapter.
As well as connecting them to a PS5, PlayStation Portal, PC or Mac, you can use Pulse Elevate as Bluetooth speakers and there is support for multi-point pairing. Presets and other settings can be customized via a PS5 or PC. You can also tilt the speakers. Sony has yet to reveal the Pulse Elevate’s full technical specifications or how long they will run on a charge (other than saying they will play audio for “hours”).
