OpenAI is catching up with some competitors and bringing new personal finance features to ChatGPT. The new personal finance experience is rolling out starting today for select subscribers.
Enhanced Personal Finance experience lets you connect ChatGPT to your financial accounts
“Today, we’re releasing a preview of a new personal finance experience in ChatGPT for Pro users in the United States,” OpenAI announced.
“You can now securely connect your financial accounts, view a dashboard of where your money is going, and ask ChatGPT questions based on your financial context, all while staying in control of your data. »
OpenAI is limiting the release at the moment so it can “learn from real-world usage, improve the experience, and develop thoughtfully.”

ChatGPT Pro subscribers with access can start by connecting a financial account to the app.
To get started, open Finances in the ChatGPT sidebar and select “Get Started” or start a conversation from anywhere in ChatGPT by saying “@Finances, connect my accounts.”
ChatGPT will then guide you through securely linking accounts through Plaid, with Intuit support coming soon. After you authenticate, ChatGPT will begin syncing and categorizing your data, which may take a few minutes.
ChatGPT will feature a personal finance dashboard that can display up-to-date data on spending, subscriptions, upcoming payments, and wallet performance.
Users can also provide important context to ChatGPT, such as financial goals to keep in mind.
Financial data can be deleted at any time. OpenAI also provides controls to remove personal finance information from ChatGPT’s memory function. The company says private chats in ChatGPT will not use personal financial data.

The feature requires ChatGPT Pro, which costs $100/month. OpenAI’s $20/month ChatGPT Plus subscription does not yet support the new personal finance experience.
