Wordle, the New York Times The word puzzle sensation comes to your TV screen. NBC has given the green light to a primetime game show based on Wordle, which will be produced by Jimmy Fallon’s Electric Hot Dog, Universal Television Alternative Studio and The New York Times. The group promises a “fresh and fast-paced” format for the show, hosted by Savannah Guthrie, an avid Wordle player and co-host of the Today Show.
As with the online version, the Wordle game show will focus on solving five-letter word puzzles, but will also incorporate an element of teamwork. “It builds on how the puzzle community engages with Wordle every day – solving together, sharing victories, debating strategies and encouraging each other,” said the New York Times »Wrote in a press release. “Now, this style of play comes to life as the most obsessed and competitive players will team up into teams and compete in the ‘Wordle’ arena, playing for an incredible cash prize.”
The New York Times said it had “carefully studied” its partners. He noted that Jimmy Fallon’s production department already produces the game shows.
