Code found in iOS 27 suggests that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could support a 33% higher charging rate than the iPhone 17 Pro models, according to a new discovery from the leaker known as “pdfu.”
The results apparently come from Apple’s charging optimization settings buried in iOS 27, which show that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max charge at a 33% higher rate than the iPhone 17 line. If Apple can maintain this higher rate throughout a charge, pdfu estimates that it could reduce the time it takes to charge by about 25%. complete a typical fast charging session.

Actual charging speeds depend on a host of real-world factors, such as phone temperature and battery charge level, so the improvement buyers notice on a day-to-day basis might end up being less than the numbers suggest.
