John Ternus, Apple’s new CEO, is expected to lead the way at tomorrow’s iPhone launch event in Cupertino. This comes just over a week after Tim Cook became executive chairman of the tech giant earlier this month, although that transition was announced in April.
During Ternus’ first speech at the helm of the company, all rumors indicate that it’s what some die-hard Apple fans have been waiting for for years: the first foldable iPhone is finally ready to steal the show. Although theoretical renders have been circulating on forums and Reddit for years, trusted Apple analysts have largely confirmed that they will be revealed at the event. Whether the smartphone will hold up to years of constant chatter remains to be seen, but all eyes will be on Ternus for its big debut.
This follows a busy summer, which recently revealed the powerful Mac mini and Mac Studio desktops, featuring two new chips: the M6 and M5 Ultra. Both models will be available from September 22.

As speculation swirls around Apple’s first-ever foldable phone, which many would call the iPhone Ultra, reports suggest that it will have a 5.5-inch exterior display and a 7.8-inch interior display. The latter is less than an inch smaller than the iPad Mini’s 8.3-inch screen, practically turning your smartphone into a tablet.
As for some downsides, he says the iPhone Ultra’s camera doesn’t have a telephoto lens. With a potential price tag of $2,000 or more, this could disappoint many iPhone Pro owners who now love their advanced camera array.
According to Bloomberg’Like Mark Gurman, who had nothing but good things to say about the foldable’s sturdy hinge and reinvigorated tablet-style interface, there are still more models to look forward to. While all the hype is mainly focused on the iPhone Ultra, Gurman also suggested that Apple will likely unveil the latest iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. In a recent tweet, the dedicated Apple analyst also speculated that the promotional graphic for its upcoming event could hint at a sky blue iPhone 18 Pro.
However, budget buyers should consider that the base iPhone 18 should not be announced alongside its more expensive counterparts. Multiple reports have indicated that Apple chose to split the reveals between this fall and spring 2027. Other anticipated models, like the iPhone Air and the second-generation iPhone 18e, aren’t expected to land until next spring, so it’s best to wait if you’re not looking to splurge on a new phone this year.
Beyond the iPhone, we also expect the usual annual Apple Watch update. This year, we expect to see the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4. Last year’s Apple Watch SE 3 was a major overhaul, so we don’t expect an update on that front this year.
