Google is updating its AI search results to incorporate “insight insights” from public online discussions and social media. Results from places like Reddit and online forums are sometimes labeled as “Expert Advice,” according to Google screenshots.
Google says the section might have different titles like “Community Insights” depending on the query and answer, so not all answers will be labeled Expert Advice. The section includes the creator’s name, handle, or community name for reference.
Several other changes will be made to AI Mode and AI Previews in Google Search. When exploring a topic, the AI results will include suggestions on what to explore next in a “Draw Further” section.
Links from news sites that a user is subscribed to will now have a “Subscriber” label in AI Mode and AI Preview results so they appear first. Google is also making links easier to see in AI responses, with links displayed alongside relevant text.
Hovering over a link on the desktop version of Google Search will now provide a preview of the website with the website name or web page title, so users get a better idea of the site before clicking on it. Google says users are hesitant to click on links online when they don’t know where a link leads.
Google says improving the visibility and usefulness of links in AI Search will help users connect directly to sources and creators.
