The popular Mac app AppZapper was revamped today with a new design, updated features, and a new name. AppZapper 3000 provides a quick way to remove Mac apps and their associated files.
AppZapper requires full disk access permission to search files on the Mac. Once installed, you can drag and drop an app into AppZapper, then click the Zap All button to remove the app and associated files with a fun laser gun animation and sound. AppZapper locates and removes all files in an app in just seconds, and users can choose from four different themes.
AppZapper was first launched in 2006, so the new version debuts on its 20th anniversary. Developer Austin Sarner says the updated version of the app is tailored to macOS security requirements and makes it easier to find related app files.
The app can be downloaded for free and tested before purchasing. A license costs $18 for a single user and $29 for a family pack that allows the app to be used on up to five Macs. macOS 15 or later is required.
