If you’re a streamer, heavy multitasker, or someone whose desk is cluttered with a combination of stream decks and macropads, the Kage GhostPad may be the bargain you’ve been waiting for. Having a stream deck for quick access to a ton of macros for launching apps or media commands can be a big help, especially if you don’t want to end up with a bulky, large keyboard, but it also means you’re cluttering your desk with even more devices.
As someone who already has a keyboard, mouse, speakers, remote, gamepad, stream deck, and Echo Dot competing for valuable real estate, anything I can do to free up space is extremely welcome. The GhostPad offers impressive functionality, adding up to 16 fully programmable macro buttons, without adding any bulk. It’s a single block that spans your desk and the buttons are flat areas, without even a ridge or bump to disrupt your space. It immediately joins the competition for the best gaming accessories and desktop gadgets you’ll actually need.
Works without clutter
The GhostPad’s creator, Reddit user cmajmus, claims he was inspired to create the GhostPad because his desk was becoming increasingly cluttered with a growing army of devices, including a stream deck, macro pad, MIDI controller, and numeric keypad. The GhostPad replaces them all with 16 custom zones that you can program to different levels of pressure sensitivity, or which you can activate when you press lightly, firmly, or hold. Each button can do anything from triggering key macros in games (to activate abilities or swap weapons) or controlling your media to launching apps or playing sound cues.
You can also create entire layouts to switch between, and everything is customizable via a web app. You can also personalize the physical mat itself. Different “skins” will be available that you can remove or snap on at will, and each is water-resistant and can be washed without fear of damaging sensitive electronic devices. The official website indicates that future collaborations and varied materials will be coming in later iterations. The pad connects via USB or Bluetooth.
The response was enthusiastic to say the least, garnering comments on Reddit such as “Looks awesome AF!” and shocked that “this doesn’t already exist and I’ve never thought of it myself.” The product page states that the GhostPad is expected to launch in Q4 2026, and that a link is available to lock in an early bird price of €129 (around $147 at current exchange rates).
