Sony promises an in-depth look at Final Fantasy 7 Revelation.
It’s almost time for the Tokyo Game Show, and as always, Sony is hosting a State of Play presentation ahead of the event. Actually, make it two, because the company is doubling back-to-back streams on September 3. It will start with (hopefully) fun games and (definitely) at 9 a.m. ET. You will be able to watch the stream on YouTube and Twitch.
We’ll start with a broader update that features news and updates from PlayStation Studios and Sony partners around the world. This will conclude with an in-depth review of Final Fantasy 7 reveal. This title’s appearance at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live was brief, so it’s good that fans won’t have to wait long for more details. Maybe we’ll also get a release date – the game should arrive next spring.
Immediately after the first presentation, we will dive into State of Play Japan. This will feature games from Asian studios.
Some rumors suggest this double bill will feature a look at Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: the heretic prophetwhich we haven’t seen much since its reveal in 2024. I’m a little skeptical about this, given the latest chapter of the FF7 The remake trilogy concludes the wider showcase.
I’m curious if Sony will enable live chat for the YouTube stream or set Twitch chat to emojis only. Every PlayStation social media post over the past two months has received numerous responses from people protesting the company’s decision to almost entirely stop production of physical game discs. This issue is likely to flood any conversation about game reveals in live chat unless Sony locks things down.
