Additions to the PS Plus games catalog for May include Red Dead Redemption 2 and Star Wars Outlaws

As we don’t wait so patiently for the next one GTA6 trailer (or, if you’re a real pessimist, hold off on confirmation), PlayStation Plus subscribers can at least get by with another Rockstar epic returning to the service. As GTA 52018 Red Dead Redemption 2 has bounced between PS Plus and Game Pass over the years, but as we head into summer, it’s PlayStation players who will be able to hang out with Arthur Morgan at no extra cost.

Of course it will be the PS4 version of Red Dead Redemption 2as the game has yet to receive a performance patch of any kind for the current generation, despite several years of rumors that it would arrive at some point. Not that you should be put off by a 30fps cap if you haven’t played the open-world cowboy epic yet. Red Dead Online is also included.

RDR2 isn’t the only big addition to PS Plus this month. Also arriving is that of Ubisoft Star Wars Outlaws the first-ever open-world Star Wars game, and one that’s a lot more fun to play now than it was at launch thanks to a few fixes. If you missed it in 2024, you play as aspiring scoundrel Kay Vess, who finds herself in a world of trouble with a number of the galaxy’s sinister crime syndicates. Outlaw isn’t the best game you’ll ever play, but its wacky stealth sections are no longer obligatory, and if you don’t get pleasure from racing around a perfectly recreated Tatooine on your speeder bike, then you’re a lot harder to please than I am.

Both will join PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium on May 19, as well as Bramble: the king of the mountain (PS5, PS4), The Thaumaturge (PS5), Flintlock: Siege of Dawn (PS5), Broken Sword – Shadows of the Templars: Reforged (PS5, PS4) and Enotria: the latest standard edition (PS5).

PS Plus Premium subscribers also get a retro gift this month. May 19th sees the arrival of the classic 1997 light rail shooter, Time crisisas part of the Premium Classics catalog only on PS4 and PS5. Plus, gyroscopic aiming is supported, so you can really bring the arcade into your living room.
