If you purchased an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 between June 2024 and March 2025, Apple may owe you money. The payments are part of an ongoing lawsuit that erupted after Apple’s first Apple Intelligence campaign in 2024. Apple spent a lot of time promoting a much smarter version of Siri alongside the iPhone 16. However, these features did not arrive as expected, and Apple ultimately had to confirm that the more personalized Siri had been delayed. This led to lawsuits accusing Apple of false advertising about features that buyers couldn’t actually use. Now, almost two years later, the main features highlighted by Apple are just starting to arrive with the iPhone 18 and iPhone Duo.
The lawsuit has now ended with a $250 million class action settlement, which left owners of certain eligible iPhone devices between $25 and $95 per device. Devices covered by the settlement include iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and iPhone 16e.
Although Apple still denies doing anything wrong, the company has agreed to pay $250 million into a settlement fund. Claims opened on September 21, 2026 and you have until December 21 to submit yours. There are some eligibility requirements, however, and simply owning one of the covered iPhones isn’t enough.
How to know if you are eligible
While all phones listed above are eligible, you will also need to live in the United States and have originally purchased one of these devices in the United States between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025. The device must also have been purchased for personal or business use, not for resale from a third party. Some eligible iPhone owners may have received a letter or email regarding the settlement. If so, you can use the Claim ID and PIN provided in the letter to claim your payment. Even if you haven’t received a letter, you can go to the official settlement website and choose “File a Claim” to get started.
Enter your contact details and some additional details that will be used to verify the iPhone in the form. The easiest way to do this is to retrieve the serial number of the device. You can find it in Settings > General > About. Claims must be submitted online or postmarked by December 21, 2026. The court’s final approval hearing is scheduled for February 24, 2027, so payments will still take several months. The maximum payment is $95, but no one is guaranteed to receive this amount. Ultimately, payment will depend on the number of valid claims submitted for settlement, as well as the final amount of overall settlement expenses.
