Content creators, streamers, or anyone who likes to manipulate videos: one of the most popular video editors is now available on the Google Play Store. While iPhone users have enjoyed a mobile version of Adobe Premiere for about a year, the company behind photo editor Photoshop is now expanding its video editing software to Android devices. The app is generally free, although users will need to meet system requirements.
Android users can now find Adobe Premiere on the Google Play Store (per Android Authority). While the price is right, users will need a phone with at least 5GB of RAM and Android OS 13 (or newer). As for Adobe Premiere on Android, the company promises that it supports the same features as its iOS counterpart, and Adobe also promises that users won’t have to worry about upgrade notifications or forced logins. The app also includes several generative AI tools and social media-focused features, although some AI features may require a subscription after using the free credits available.
While there are many mobile video editing options available, such as CapCut, LightCut, and LumaFusion, for example, some users may be attracted to the Adobe name (even if some users have a preference for a specific Adobe Photoshop alternative). Additionally, too many options is never a bad thing, and Premiere’s arrival on the Google Play Store may give video creators additional options when it comes to creation.

In addition to offering a variety of different video editing options, including adding speed effects, making edits, and accessing color presets, the mobile version of Adobe Premiere for Android also includes “creator-made” video templates and integration with YouTube Shorts. Additionally, Android users will have access to many of the features that iPhone users enjoy, such as creating a multi-track timeline or easily adding additional music and effects.
However, users should be aware that not all modern phones come with the essential 5GB of RAM, which is likely necessary for many of the app’s AI features. This includes features like Generative Fill, which can help edit content based on text prompts or create videos from images, both of which rely on Adobe’s Firefly AI templates. To check your available RAM, check your owner’s manual or search for RAM in the Settings app.
For users who want to get the most out of Adobe Premiere on Android, there is at least one app that can improve the output of your video recording, but users should also know that the company plans to expand the app in the future. This includes support for Adobe fonts when creating text overlays and transferring projects to Premiere Pro on desktop, and much more. Additionally, users currently do not need a Creative Cloud subscription and there are no watermarks or ads. The only thing to purchase is the optional AI credits or additional storage.
