BloombergMark Gurman of disputed the authenticity of iPhone Ultra renders shared by generally reliable leaker Evan Blass on X (Twitter). The images show the unreleased foldable iPhone not only in space gray and white colors, but also in a vibrant red.
“These renders were from Xiaomi,” Gurman wrote, commenting on Blass’ post. “This is not a legitimate preview of the foldable iPhone, which also doesn’t come in red or green. Just renders made by Xiaomi for some reason. Carry on.”
Apple reportedly plans to “stay away from fun colors” and stick with more traditional space gray/black and silver/white finishes for the book-style foldable iPhone. One rumor described the darker color as a shade of indigo rather than black. Another rumor suggests that there might not be a black color at all.

Apple will host its annual iPhone-centric event on Wednesday, September 9, at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, where the company is expected to launch the foldable alongside the new iPhone 18 Pro models. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. PT. This year, Apple is using the slogan “Surprise and Shine” for its fall event.
