Following the rollout of the username feature, WhatsApp now allows users to save a contact’s username when adding their name and phone number. The username field is displayed between the first and last name fields and the phone number section.
You can add a new contact in WhatsApp by tapping the + button in the Chats tab navigation bar. According to WABetaInfoWhen usernames become more widely available, WhatsApp will automatically populate the username field when users create a new contact from the chat info screen.
