With the iOS 26.5 update, Apple added a new Pride Luminance wallpaper to your iPhone. The wallpaper has color bands that change when you swipe from the lock screen to the home screen. By default, the wallpaper uses a rich, vibrant color palette that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community.
But it’s actually super customizable and lets you choose your own personal color palette for your iPhone lock screen. Here’s how to add the new colorful wallpaper and make it your own.
To install Pride Luminance wallpaper, you must first update to iOS 26.5. The free software update was released for all compatible iPhone models earlier this week. If you haven’t updated yet, go to Settings -> Software Update.
After installing the new OS version, you will need to get the new Pride wallpaper. Long press on your lock screen to open the wallpaper gallery.
In the Wallpapers gallery, tap the plus button to add a new wallpaper and scroll down to the Pride section. If they are not already installed, tap the “Get” button to download them.

The new Pride Luminance striped wallpaper is the first in the collection. Tap it to bring up the editor.
On this screen, swipe from left to right to preview the predefined built-in styles. There are around ten ready to welcome you.
If you want to choose your own colors, swipe all the way down until you reach the “Custom” option. On this screen, tap the pencil icon to open the color picker. You can select up to 12 colors in any combination, allowing for lots of creativity and customization.
With up to 12 colors, you can create all kinds of different looks, from earthy fall themes to bright pinks to subtle grays.
Besides customizing colors, you can also edit widgets and change how the time appears. It defaults to the iOS 26 large glassy font style. If you prefer something else, just tap the time panel to change the font or color.
When you’re done, tap the Add button at the top right of the screen to confirm and save your new wallpaper. You can always go back and create other lock screens with different appearances and switch between them later.
And a matching watch face too…
You can also get a matching colored watch face on your Apple Watch. Install the watchOS 26.5 update, then grab the Pride Luminance face from the watch face gallery. Just like the iPhone wallpaper, you can choose from preset themes or choose your own color scheme.
To edit an Apple Watch face, long-press the clock face and tap Edit. Swipe to the Color page, then scroll the Digital Crown to cycle through different preset themes. The custom preset is the first option on the list. This will bring up a swatch where you can choose up to 12 colors to display on your watch face, just like the iPhone wallpaper.
