Another important quarter for Apple was marked by strong overall performance, but the iPhone 17 family accounted for a significant portion of the company’s profits. Here’s why Tim Cook says the iPhone 17 works so well, based on customer feedback.
Apple CEO lists five reasons why people are buying iPhone 17 models

Yesterday, Apple revealed several key details related to the breakout success of the iPhone 17 family.
The company said the iPhone 17 lineup is officially the most popular in its history. And that it gained market share against Android during the quarter.
It also highlighted a major achievement in customer satisfaction. According to Apple CFO Kevan Parekh, “customer satisfaction for the iPhone 17 family in the United States was recently measured at 99% by 451 Research.”
99% customer satisfaction for the iPhone 17 range is a big victory, which partly helps explain the commercial success. If early adopters like the iPhone 17, they will also get more people to upgrade.
During the earnings conference call, an analyst asked CEO Tim Cook about the “impressive iPhone growth” Apple has seen. And his response revealed what customers are telling Apple about the iPhone 17’s appeal.
Here is Cook’s explanation:
Yes, if you look at it, it is the iPhone 17 family that is driving it, and this, as you point out, despite the supply constraints that we are experiencing. And the things that push people towards 17 are: people like the design, people like the performance, they like the durability, they like the camera, they like Center Stage and they like that Apple Intelligence is integrated across the entire platform.
So, according to Tim Cook, customers are attracted to the iPhone 17 range because of five main elements:
- Design
- Performance
- Sustainability
- Camera, with Center Stage specifically mentioned
- Apple Intelligence
