The MacBook Ultra could bring “Neo” energy, but for the high end

Apple is rumored to launch its first-ever “MacBook Ultra” later this year, and it could bring power to the MacBook Neo, but for high-end users.

MacBook Neo and MacBook Ultra are both interesting extensions to the Mac lineup, but for very different users

The MacBook Neo has been a big success for Apple, with users praising its performance, design and price.

But for all the excitement about the Neo, it’s also not the best model for many longtime Mac users.

MacBook Neo expands the Mac lineup and makes it more accessible to more people. But in many cases, anyone who has used a Mac for years is probably better served by a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro.

However, later this year, the MacBook Ultra could deliver the same excitement and energy as the Neo, but for high-end Mac users.

Like the Neo, the MacBook Ultra will represent an extension of the Apple range. Rumor has it that it will feature:

  • all-new design, thinner and lighter than the MacBook Pro
  • M6 chip family
  • OLED screen
  • touch screen
  • Dynamic island instead of a notch
  • and possibly a cellular option

The MacBook Ultra will target a very different demographic than the MacBook Neo, but it will also be more appealing to the average. 9to5Mac drive.

When the MacBook Neo was revealed, I was just as excited as everyone else. But I also knew one thing right away: Neo was not the computer I needed.

I tend to prefer cutting-edge, “latest and greatest” products. A Mac full of compromises to achieve a low price is not for me.

But the MacBook Ultra has the chance to be this innovative, brand-new Mac that generates a lot of excitement and delivers the features I care about. And I imagine many other longtime Apple users will feel the same way.
