It offers bigger cash rewards when you purchase the company’s products.
Samsung just revealed a credit card ahead of its big Unpacked event on July 22. The Samsung Galaxy Card isn’t as exciting a reveal as, say, a new foldable, but it could be useful for die-hard fans of the company. This is because it allows you to get decent cashback when you buy Samsung products.
In total, users will receive a five percent cash reward on “eligible purchases made directly with Samsung.” It can add up. The entry-level Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 costs $1,500, which would give buyers $75 in cash reward.
Users will also receive a $200 cash reward if they spend $2,000 with the card within the first 90 days of opening an account. It’s basically a ten percent cash reward, although finding yourself saddled with $1,800 in debt doesn’t sound like much fun.
Otherwise, there is a three percent cash reward on purchases made with Samsung Wallet and a two percent reward on streaming service payments. Finally, all other purchases receive a 1% cash reward and the card offers a 20% discount on Samsung’s VIP Advantage loyalty/guarantee platform.
The card will be available from July 22. On this date, consumers will be able to request it online or at any Samsung store. Samsung’s latest Unpacked presentation begins at 9 a.m. ET on the same day. The company will likely be showcasing a whole bunch of new gadgets throughout the event, which should provide multiple opportunities to get that five percent cash reward.
Samsung isn’t the only big tech company with its own credit card. The Apple Card has been around for years. Amazon also offers several branded credit cards.
