Both models were created in partnership with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. Last year, Google announced a partnership with Samsung to create a new line of smart glasses with help from traditional eyewear makers Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. But today at Google I/O 2026, we got a clearer idea of what those specs will look like when they go on sale later this year.
While we’re still waiting for official information regarding their pricing, detailed specs, and release date, Google and Samsung say these upcoming Android devices. The general idea is that by freeing your hands and eyes, you can keep your phone in your pocket and stay in the moment without completely disconnecting.
According to a Google blog post, this first generation of glasses will be audio-only (without a built-in screen). It will rely on built-in speakers, voice controls, and cameras to perform tasks and interact with Gemini and other apps. What’s more interesting is that the two specs feature very different designs, with the Gentle Monster pair evoking “a disruptive yet refined aesthetic”. In contrast, the Warby Parker frame features a more traditional silhouette. This could be a smart strategy for Google and Samsung as they look to capture the interest of traditional buyers while also offering something a little more adventurous for tech enthusiasts.
The first batch of smart glasses from Google and Samsung is expected to go on sale later this fall in select markets.
