The P6 trailer is filled with tombstones and eerie atmospheres.
Character 6 exists. During the Xbox Summer Game Fest showcase, Atlus finally officially confirmed that the next main installment in the Persona series is on the way, exact date unknown. It’s heading to PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
We really don’t know anything about Character 6so for now we’ll have to make do with the clues (and YouTube description) from its first teaser. The reveal video is distinctly eerie with a gothic touch, featuring a slow, monochromatic pan over a field of densely packed headstones in a rainstorm, ending at the base of a looming sculptural headstone.
Its description reads: “An all-new story is about to unfold. The highly anticipated next chapter of the iconic RPG series delivers a bold new standalone story blending heartfelt everyday life and new characters with a thrilling supernatural adventure. Whether this is your first Persona game or you’ve been here since the beginning, this one’s for you.”
This is essentially just a description of a Persona game in general, and the Xbox store listing is just as generic, establishing Persona’s familiar balance between school life, friendships, and dungeons. Combined with the graveyard visuals and spooky soundtrack, there’s plenty to get excited about.
