We’ve been waiting for a while to find out when we’ll finally be able to get our hands on Mina la Hollow, so a new release date is good news. Yacht Club Games brings its latest project to Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on May 29 for $20. This is within the developer’s previously announced spring release window.
Mina la Hollow is an action-adventure game with an 8-bit aesthetic in the vein of the Game Boy Color titles. Yacht Club claims it features 60fps combat and a βworld full of mystery and horror.β The studio appears to have taken inspiration from classic games The Legend of Zelda and Castlevania.
You play as a mouse named Mina who can attack enemies with her whip and other weapons. Mina can burrow underground for short distances. She can use this ability to cross gaps and become temporarily invincible.

Yacht Club, which brought us before Knight with a shovel, originally planned to release Mina la Hollow on Halloween (should it be Hollow-een?) last year. However, this ended up delaying the game “to apply some finishing touches and balancing to make the game really shine.”
Mina la Hollow was in development for six years, during which time the developer had to downsize after burning through most of its capital. Studio head and co-founder Sean Velasco described the game as a watershed moment for Yacht Club. βIf we sold 500,000 copies, then we would be golden,β he said. Bloomberg in December. “If we sold even 200,000, that would be really good. If we sold like 100,000, that’s not so good.”
