Remember that new feature Meta announced last week that lets people use public posts and Reels on Instagram to generate AI content? It didn’t last long. Meta removed the feature from Instagram on Friday evening, following widespread criticism over privacy concerns.
“Our intention was to provide a useful creative tool and allow people to control whether their public content could be referenced in this way,” Meta said in a statement. “We have heard feedback that this feature did not serve its purpose, so it is no longer available,” the company added.
