iOS 27 will be revealed on June 8 at WWDC, and rumors indicate that the software update could drop support for four iPhone models. Here are the details.

iOS 27 might not support iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and more

Apple event won't promise upcoming Apple Intelligence features

We’re getting closer to Apple’s big reveal of iOS 27 at WWDC, with rumored features including a major Siri overhaul, Liquid Glass design changes, and more.

But will your iPhone support the new update?

Some years Apple drops compatibility for older iPhone models, while other times it doesn’t. But a recent leak indicates that a change will be planned with iOS 27.

Last month, Weibo leaker Instant Digital published a comprehensive list of what claims to be all iPhone models supported by iOS 27.

Four models that can run iOS 26 are missing from the list:

    • iPhone 11 Pro Max
    • iPhone 11 Pro
    • iPhone11
    • iPhone SE (2nd generation)

According to the leaker’s post, iOS 27 will require an iPhone 12 or later. And although iOS 26 supports the second-generation iPhone SE, the new update will only work on the iPhone SE 3 or later.

If true, it will be two years in a row since Apple removed several iPhone models from its major iOS update. Last year, the iPhone XS generation was absent.

Apple will continue to support iOS 26 with new updates, but they will be limited to bug fixes and security improvements after the launch of iOS 27.

It’s worth noting, however, that many of iOS 27’s flagship features are expected to involve Apple Intelligence, which requires the iPhone 15 Pro or later.

So while your iPhone may still run iOS 27, it may or may not support all of the upcoming features.

Would you be surprised if Apple dropped support for iOS 27 from the iPhone 11 lineup? Let us know in the comments.
