Instagram will now allow you to promote tagged photos on your main profile grid. The Tagged tab still exists and it’s still where you can see all the posts you’ve been tagged in. But if you want to display particular posts on your main grid, you can now do that too. Instagram says you can do this for favorite group photos, creator collabs, and memories, but in reality you can add any post you want.
There are several ways to add a tagged post to your grid. You can do this directly from the DM notification you receive when you are tagged or from the three-dot menu in the upper right of the post you are tagged in. You can also tap and hold a post in your Flagged tab to see the option. Under the “Add to Grid” button, you will see a notice that even if you add the post to your profile, who can see it depends on the privacy settings of your account and the account of the user who tagged you.
If you change your mind in the future, you can easily remove a tagged post from your profile without having to delete it completely. Any tagged posts you add will appear on your grid in reverse chronological order by default. However, you can rearrange them as you see fit. If you recall, Instagram introduced the ability to rearrange posts on your profile in June, a year after its announcement. You can move posts regardless of when they were created, to achieve the aesthetic you’re looking for for your Instagram account.
