Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 is quietly becoming an office essential

One of the best ways to judge the quality of a product is simply how long it lasts. There are tons of products that come across my desk that, for one reason or another, don’t last more than a month of use. It could be poorly built, too cheap, not suit my aesthetic, or for any other reason. But if a product earns a permanent place on my desk or nightstand and I stop thinking about replacing it, that’s usually a very good sign. So when I noticed that I had been using my Nomos charging station for about a year, I knew I had to give you my thoughts. Here’s what it is and how well it has held up.

Don’t forget to watch my hands-on video review of the Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 charger!

There were a few things that initially attracted me to this charger, but the main one was the screen. This charger came out at a time when screens were expensive, and not all chargers had them. I feel like most chargers these days have a little LCD screen to show some stats, which I love. But I wanted something reliable that could charge most things and had a screen so I could test different wattage speed claims. It does that and more.

You get:

  • Qi2 certified 15W MagSafe charger, adjustable and supports sleep mode
  • USB-C PD 3.1 fast charging up to 140W (C3 port)
  • Built-in 100W retractable USB-C cable
  • 2x USB-C ports + 1x USB-A port
  • Real-time LCD display showing power output and charging statistics
  • Charge up to 5 devices at once with 140W total power

What stands out most is how everything is integrated. The built-in cable and MagSafe holder come in handy when you don’t have a cable around. The MagSafe stand can also charge your AirPods, so all that’s missing is an Apple Watch charger, which you can easily plug in. But after a year of use, how has it held up?

My experience

As I said in the introduction, the fact that this charger is still on my desk, even a year later, shows how much I appreciated this tool. The biggest thing for me is how easy it is to charge everything. I can drop my iPhone on the MagSafe charger, plug my iPad Pro or MacBook Pro into the built-in cable, and have extra ports for any other accessories. I usually have my fitness tech accessory chargers or Magsafe batteries that I’m currently testing plugged into the extra ports.

One of the biggest differentiators for me is that they kept the USB-A port. More and more brands are removing this port completely. But I still use a camera battery charging station that connects via USB-A. There are also a few baby-related pieces of tech, like bottle warmers or humidifiers, that still use USB-A for some reason. So having this USB-A port has been ideal for my daily use. I would say that most of the time all ports and cables are used.

Then you have the LCD screen. For me, that was the key. I always test cables, batteries, and products that claim a specific wattage or can support “up to” a certain charging speed. The best way to test these claims is to use a tool like Baseus Nomos. It gives you the total power out, shows you the power per port, and also breaks down the volts and amperage if you really want to see what’s going on. The screen is very bright for indoor use and goes to sleep when idle. There is a small button on the side to wake the screen if it is asleep.

But above all, it is reliable. Not a single problem a year later.

Pricing and availability

The Basues Nomos 5-in-1 is available on Amazon for $69. It comes with the charger itself and the double barrel power cable. The power cable also rests on the wall, which is a fantastic touch. Another crazy part is that as of this writing, you can claim a free MagSafe 5,000 mAh battery ($20 value) or a 10,000 mAh battery ($35 value).

Final Thoughts

I know there are many other charging stations that offer higher overall power. I’ve looked at some that provide 240W and even 300W of total power, but, of course, the price will reflect this increase. But I think most people just want to charge their iPhone, AirPods, Apple Watch, iPad, and MacBook. This Nomos charger brings together the features that most people actually use into one clean, reliable package. So, for less than $70, it’s hard to find something this versatile and well thought out.

Let me know what you think. Is this a charger you would use? What would you change? Let’s discuss it below.
