Are you eligible for a share of Apple’s new $250 million Siri settlement?

We reported earlier this week that Apple had reached a $250 million settlement over delays in introducing new Siri features.

Payments to eligible iPhone buyers won’t be automatic, so you need to understand if you are one of them and be ready to act within 90 days…

Even the most ardent Apple supporter couldn’t deny that the launch of the new Siri was a disaster. In summarizing the situation yesterday, I noted that the company announced the new Siri features as if they were imminent. in 2024 and then I had to admit that it really wasn’t the case. We are still waiting today.

This saw the company hit with legal action for “false advertising” and the company this week reached a settlement. As we reported, eligible iPhone owners will receive a payment of between $25 and $95 per device.

However, it is important to note that you will not receive an automatic payment: you will instead need to file a claim. Once the claim window opens, you will have 90 days to do so.

CNET summarized how the process would work and the expected timelines. First of all, you’re eligible if you purchased one of the following iPhone models between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025:

  • iPhone 15 Pro
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max
  • iPhone16
  • iPhone16E
  • iPhone 16 Plus
  • iPhone 16 Pro
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max

Although Apple didn’t make its Siri promises at the time of the iPhone 15 lineup’s launch, owners of the Pro models are eligible because those devices are still capable of performing the new features. In other words, the promises Apple made also applied to these customers.

Here are the scheduled times, even if they are approximate for now:

  • June 17, 2026: approval of regulation expected
  • June 22, 2026: Apple must identify eligible customers
  • August 7, 2026: Apple must notify customers that they are entitled to payment
  • November 6, 2026: You must file your claim by visiting the settlement website

Note that the checkout website doesn’t exist yet, so you don’t need to do anything at this time. The takeaway here is that once Apple notifies you of your right, you have 90 days to file your claim using the link the company will send you.
