New Mac mini and Mac Studio models announced by Apple this week should “ship” with macOS Golden Gate, according to Bold FireballIt’s John Gruber.
Apple’s product pages for the new Mac mini and Mac Studio models mention macOS Golden Gate features such as Siri AI, providing further evidence that the computers will ship with the latest operating system, instead of macOS Tahoe.
Additionally, FCC documents and other evidence uncovered by Woozad all point to new Macs that ship with macOS Golden Gate preinstalled.
“The new Mac mini comes to life with the upcoming macOS 27, which includes Siri AI, a much more capable personal assistant, Apple Intelligence features useful in everyday applications, and a broad set of improvements that make the Mac even more responsive and reliable,” Apple said in a press release.
Apple said the new Mac mini and Mac Studio will be released on Tuesday, September 22, so macOS Golden Gate will need to be released before then if computers will ship with that operating system. Based on historical patterns, macOS Golden Gate will most likely be released during the week of Monday, September 14.
