“Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars” has been renewed for a second season on Apple TV, following an acclaimed eight-part season 1. Here’s what to expect from season 2. “Knife Edge” will return for a second eight-course serving Apple TV today announced that “Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars,” nominated for a BAFTA Award in the Factual Entertainment category, has been renewed for a second season. Hosted by Topjaw’s Jesse Burgess, the show explores “the high-stakes world of international gastronomy with exclusive access throughout the annual Michelin Guide season,” according to Apple’s description. In its first season, “Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars” spanned from New York to Chicago, Sweden, Ireland, Mexico and beyond, with each episode following the pressure, effort and excitement of restaurant teams seeking their first Michelin stars or fighting to keep the ones they already have. Here’s executive producer Gordon Ramsey on the series’ relevance and impact: Now more than ever, restaurants around the world are under enormous pressure to not only strive for perfection, but also to survive. The economic consequences of a struggling industry mean the stakes have never been higher. With culinary standards changing on a global scale, “Knife Edge” reveals the stress, the pressure, the resilience needed to keep your cool in the battle for greatness, it’s honestly brutal. Personally, I continue to be very proud of the passion that reigns in our industry – of the drive and ambition of those hungry newcomers, emerging talents and those indomitable chefs who all continue to push for Michelin’s demanding recognition. The second season is set to continue this global quest for “the most prestigious and elusive culinary prize.” According to Apple, the second season of “Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars” will also have eight episodes. The company also confirmed that the second season, like the eight-part first season, will be produced by Studio Ramsay Global, with Gordon Ramsay serving as executive producer alongside Lisa Edwards, Lorraine Charker-Phillips and Jill Greenwood.
