Apple TV announced the release date for season 4 of Ted Lasso yesterday, and today the streamer revealed that it has another beloved and critically acclaimed comedy that will also return for a new season: Trying.
Season 5 of Trying arrives July 8 on Apple TV

Both Trying and Ted Lasso premiered in 2020, bringing much-needed comfort television in a difficult year.
Now, Apple is bringing both shows back for new seasons this summer to bring more good vibes and laughter.
Try Season 5 Premieres Wednesday July 8 with one episode, followed by weekly releases until August 26.
The series follows London couple Nikki (Esther Smith) and Jason (Rafe Spall) on their journey through infertility, foster care and adoption.
If you’ve never seen Trying, but enjoy heartfelt comedies like Shrinking and Ted Lasso, I highly recommend checking out the series. The series’ impressive 96% Rotten Tomatoes score is a testament to its success over four seasons.
The new season has the following plot, according to Apple:
In season five, Nikki (Smith) and Jason (Spall) deal with the aftermath of the arrival of Kat (Charlotte Riley), the biological mother of Princess (Scarlett Rayner) and Tyler (Cooper Turner), on their doorstep, and the whirlwind of chaos she brings to their settled family life.
