Apple today released the second beta of an upcoming iOS 27.2 update to developers for testing, with the update coming a week after Apple released the first beta of iOS 27.2. Apple also launched a beta version of iPadOS 27.2.
Registered developers can download beta updates by registering under Settings > General > Software Update and selecting iOS 27 Developer Beta.
iOS 27.2 includes Apple’s redesigned Health app with new Insight and Longevity tabs. It also brings Siri AI to new languages. There are several other new features, details of which can be found in our features guide.
Apple releasing a beta of iOS 27.2 before a beta of iOS 27.1 was a surprise, especially since the company plans to ship the iPhone Duo with iOS 27.1. Apple will likely keep iOS 27.1 until the Duo is released, just to keep the features under wraps. iOS 27.1 will add updated app layouts and features designed for both iPhone Duo screens. The iPhone Duo will feature a vertical dock, a vertical Dynamic Island, new dual-screen app layouts, side-by-side multitasking apps, and exclusive Camera app capabilities.
Since the iPhone Duo launches on Friday, October 23 and ships with iOS 27.1, Apple will need to release the iOS 27.1 update before then. Since iOS 27.2 includes new Siri AI languages, it will also launch during the month of October.
