It’s a terrifying meeting of minds. The horror survival game Phasmophobia just launched a three-week crossover event with the Alan Wake franchise. It is rightly called Phasmophobia by Alan Wake and features reimagined maps and character skins for Wake and co-protagonist Saga Anderson.
The game will now ask players to collect pages from a book written by fictional novelist Alan Wake. These pages were actually written by Sam Lake, the creative director of Remedy and the main architect of the franchise’s story. Updated maps allow players to explore fantasy-inspired locations Alan wakes up 2.
The event is live until June 2. This is a free update available for all versions of Phasmophobiaincluding Steam, Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PS VR2. Although access to new maps and story pages ends on this date, character skins last forever.
For the uninitiated, Phasmophobia is a cooperative horror title in which players hunt ghosts in various haunted locations. It’s pretty fun and it’s become a pretty big hit. Blumhouse is turning it into a movie.
The Alan Wake games are surreal single-player adventures set in a spooky version of the Pacific Northwest. This franchise will also receive a cinematic treatment in the near future.
