I would normally include new demos in the “coming soon” section since the full games haven’t been released yet. But since there’s so much to talk about this week (and so many demos that will appear before the Steam Next Fest), I’m presenting them this time in an extra-special bonus section.
Pixel puck
Developer: Valadria
Publisher: Acclamation
Demo: Steam
Here’s one for people who love the 16-bit aesthetic and can’t get enough of it. PowerWash simulator. In Pixel puckyou play as a pig called Pigxel and use a pressure washer to clean up a town.
The full game will feature over 40 levels, with settings including parks, arcades, and movie theaters. In the demo, you can play through half a dozen stages as well as a mini-game. There are two different pressure washers that you can use to remove all the dirt. It looks cute! I’m in it.
Moonbrella
Developer and publisher: Jett Williams
Demo: Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox for PC
Moonbrella is a platform game without a jump button. Instead, you will propel yourself with an umbrella, as you would in Get over itBennett Foddy’s angry game that sees you climb a mountain using only a sledgehammer.
You will use the hook to hang on the ledges and slowly descend, opening the umbrella. This is a Metroidvania game, which indicates that you will gradually unlock abilities and gain access to more areas. Developer Jett Williams suggests that there are several ways to complete its challenges. The game was also designed for speedrunning.
Although the demo is currently only available on Steam and Xbox, Moonbrella is also in development for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Ball game
Developer and publisher: Human Computer
Demo: Steam (full game should arrive in 2026)
Ball game is a puzzle platformer built around the rules of golf, although developer Human Computer says it runs at pinball speed. You’ll throw a sentient golf ball around an interdimensional hotel it’s been banished to. There are many obstacles as well as elements that you can use to your advantage, such as grindable rails.
You can tackle levels in tournament mode, in which the goal is to reach the hole in as few strokes as possible – maybe even as low as zero strokes, somehow. Steering mode focuses on speed. Here it doesn’t matter how many moves you play. All you need to do is complete nine holes as quickly as possible to climb the leaderboards. Either way, I just know I’m going to get angry yelling “ball game!” » every time I put the ball in a hole.
Invokyr
Developer and publisher: Ludogram
Demo: Steam
You can gather up to three of your friends and take a cursed journey together into the world of Invokyr. This horror adventure seems very inspired by Jumanji. You will play board games that have new surprises in store for you with each throw of the dice. There are deadly traps to overcome and enemies looking to hunt you down. You will have to work together to survive these nightmares.
The demo includes two boards: a classic one and a jungle-themed option, which would increase in difficulty. Dice effects and game modifiers will also affect your runs, keeping things fresh and encouraging you to come back for more. Some things in the trailer seem a little scary, although the alligator made me laugh because the animation looked a little goofy.
Incremental defragmentation
Developer and publisher: Pollo Arcade Low Bit
Demo: Steam (full game should arrive in 2026)
I can’t remember the last time I saw a game that looked as Woozad-coded as Incremental defragmentation. I couldn’t leave this one out of the roundup. Here you will defrag messy disk drives using an MS DOS style interface. It’s an incremental roguelite, which could just as easily serve as catnip for a group of Balatro sick people.
After analyzing a disk, you’ll choose an algorithm that will go through it and clean things up. Factors like heat, wear, and disk health will come into play, and of course there will be bad sectors to deal with. You will also be able to get permanent upgrades, which involve restarting the BIOS. Since you take on the role of a technician, this is all about doing a decent job and making enough money to survive. Beep-boop.
Quirky
Developer: Whetstone Games
Publisher: Pantaloon
Demo: Steam (early access version planned for 2026)
Quirky is a music production game where you’ll transform the sounds you record from your environment into crazy beats, samples, and songs. You’ll connect various noisy objects to a sequencer and work from there.
The game is designed as a legitimate audio production tool. You can export your creations as WAV files and do whatever you want with them. I’ve never really explored creating music with sequencers, but it’s always something I’ve always been interested in trying. I’m really looking forward to checking out this demo when I get the chance.
Ultrapool
Developer: Ice Drop Games
Publisher: Offbrand Games
Demo/playtest: Steam, iOS, Android
Release window: Q3 2026
Grab your cue and some chalk, because here comes another pool-based roguelite. Ultrapool is about getting high scores by pocketing balls, earning points and money, buying new balls with various augmentations and repeating this loop. As you can imagine, you will need to earn a certain number of points to win each of the 10 rounds.
Finding synergies and pulling off trickshots will help you achieve objectives. It looks like you can merge balls, so Ball x Pit fans, this might catch your interest. I don’t quite understand everything that’s going on in the trailer, but there are a lot of visual effects that look very satisfying, so I’m in on it. In addition to a demo on Steam, there are beta playtests on Android and iOS.
