Resident Evil Requiem is getting a new Leon Must Die Forever mode, available today

Oh, did you want more Leon? you devoured Resident Evil Requiem in Standard and Insanity difficulty modes, and your bloodlust isn’t satisfied? You wanted more hordes of infected monsters to take down, more mutated insects to cut in two, more close-ups of the golden locks behind Leon Kennedy’s right ear, maybe forever and until the end of time? Capcom has you.

Leon must die forever is a free mode available today in Resident Evil Requiemunlocked for everyone who completed the main story. In the new mini-game, players fight increasingly chaotic waves of enemies to defeat the final boss before time runs out. Leon must die forever features stronger enemy variants than the main game, five difficulty levels, and a suite of “enhancement abilities” for Leon that intensify as he takes out zombies. It all takes place in locations you’ve already visited during the campaign, so ease in as much as you can.

Today’s update also includes core bug fixes across all platforms and PC support for the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers, haptic capabilities, and motion sensor. Resident Evil Requiem was released in late February for PC, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S, and it was an instant hit for Capcom, selling over 5 million copies in its first week. Capcom teased the Leon must die forever mode in March, alongside the announcement of an upcoming story expansion, which will take much longer to produce.

I hope the mini game can help you until the main line Requiem the content materializes, but if you need additional distraction, just follow Leon’s lead. Add Romeo must die to your watchlist and lose yourself in the campy millennial violence, then get inspired to watch one of Aaliyah’s best music videos again. Soon you’re slipping Queen of the Damned at the top of your movie lineup, and between Leon must die forever and all that beautiful bittersweet nostalgia, you won’t have time to think about how much you really want more Requiem. Damn, forget that last part.
