Apple today released a new RC (release candidate) for iOS and iPadOS 26.5, it is now available to developers and public beta testers.
iOS 26.5 RC 2 available now for testing
iOS 26.5 is expected to launch for all users next week. But before that, Apple today delivered a final preliminary version.
iOS and iPadOS 26.5 RC 2 are now rolling out. The previous RC version was version 23F75 and the new version is 23F77.
What might have changed between RC updates?
Don’t expect any new features or notable differences. Rather, Apple likely shipped a new RC due to bugs discovered during the testing process that it needed to fix before public launch.
Although each RC release is intended to be the final version of the software delivered to all users (hence the name “Release Candidate”), it is not uncommon for Apple to ship a revised RC for further testing.
When iOS 26.5 is released, it will include new features for iPhone such as RCS end-to-end encrypted messaging, a “Suggested Places” feature in Apple Maps, a Pride Luminance wallpaper, and more.
