During today’s earnings call for the second fiscal quarter of 2026, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the Mac mini and Mac Studio may be difficult to obtain in the coming months.
“We believe, looking forward, that the Mac mini and Mac Studio could take several months to reach balance between supply and demand,” Cook said.
Apple underestimated demand for the Mac mini and Mac Studio. “These two are incredible platforms for AI and agent tools and customers are realizing them faster than we anticipated, and so we’ve seen higher demand than we expected,” Cook said.
Delivery times for the Mac mini and Mac Studio have increased in recent months, and waits for some models stretch for months. Apple has completely stopped selling the Mac Studio with 512 GB of RAM and has stopped accepting orders for certain models with higher amounts of RAM. As of last week, the base Mac mini was listed as “Currently Unavailable” on Apple’s online store because it is out of stock.
