The Sift will first release with Minecraft Dungeons 2 before arriving later in the base game.
Minecraft is ending its decade-plus drought for new dimensions by introducing The Sift in its Java and Bedrock editions in 2027. As announced during the Minecraft Live event, the new dimension will be the first in over 15 years, following the introduction of The End dimension with version 1.0 in late 2011.
Mojang Studios didn’t reveal much about The Sift, but did say that some of the new areas would include the Meadows and the Carapace. In an article X, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma showed off a teaser video of The Sift dimension and a new mob found inside. According to Xbox, the next dimension will have new monsters that can be companions or threats, but it only indicated that there would be “new rules to learn” when it comes to gameplay changes.

For those who want a more detailed overview of The Sift, it will be found in Minecraft Dungeons 2the studio’s sequel to its spin-off Dungeon Crawler which will be released on September 29. It may be a long wait before The Sift is available in the Java and Bedrock versions of Minecraft, but Mojang Studios has reiterated that the game is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27.
