There are several brands and types to choose from, such as Apple, Samsung, and OnePlus. You don’t need to spend a lot of money on them either, as there are affordable tablets you can use for work and home, many of which are powered by Google’s Android.
If you’re looking for a budget Android tablet that’s comparable to some of the larger ones on the market, Teclast’s line of tablets may be worth looking at. One of the most popular Teclast models is the T65 brand, which costs around $190, depending on sales. Compared to the better-known Samsung Galaxy brand and its Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 price of around $380, it sits at a much more comfortable price point for tablets. The two tablets appear similar at first glance, aside from the fact that the Teclast has a larger screen. However, when it comes to computing power, the Teclast doesn’t offer as much performance with apps or as fast loading speed.
Teclast’s tablet remains a worthy competitor to the Samsung Galaxy tablet series if you need a cheap tablet, especially for streaming. The Tecast’s screen is large, larger than the Samsung’s, and has a high refresh rate. For everything else, it can sometimes be a little late.
The advantages and disadvantages of the Teclast tablet
At first glance, most of the Teclast T65 tablet’s features rival those of its competitors. It offers 256 GB of storage, it has an “octa-core processor” and its 13.4-inch screen runs at 120 Hz. However, its internal chips are not able to offer the same performance as its more expensive competitors.
Compared to the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11, there are many differences, including its 11-inch screen, 90 Hz refresh rate and 256 GB. The screen is smaller and the refresh rate is lower. But its performance is faster. They both also run on the same operating system, Android 16.
A review from European publication Notebookcheck said the Teclast’s “limited performance” often can’t keep up with its screen. The reviewer also criticized its small battery and slow charging. If you want a larger screen but performance to match, there are many other best large tablets you can buy.
Owners on Amazon who purchased the Teclast T65 say they appreciate the larger screen because it provides a much larger viewing area when watching movies and streaming shows. Some said the battery life was good, as was its performance, although the device isn’t capable of multitasking due to the chip. However, other reviews indicate that the sound and picture quality of this larger screen may not be the best.

There are several others that work with the Android operating system, as well as devices produced by well-known brands, including TCL and even Amazon. Both are actually made by companies that also offer a line of TVs.
TCL may be best known for television, but the company also makes tablets. The TCL Tab 10 Gen 4 Android tablet costs around $149.98, making it a more affordable device for those who just need something for work or play. It has a 10.1-inch screen, 128 GB of storage and uses Android. There’s also the Amazon Fire HD for around $129.99. It has an eight-inch, 64GB screen, and is a thinner, lighter tablet for portability.
Some Amazon reviewers of the TCL say they like the value it offers, as well as its battery life and performance, especially for streaming. However, it’s not that beefy a tablet and it might not handle games very well. Reviews of the Amazon tablet say they like its screen and size, but that it’s not that fast and the battery may not last as long as expected. Amazon offers tablets with smaller screens, which can be more difficult for anyone who wants to work, study, or manage documents. Still, sometimes the value for money is good enough, especially if it’s a cheap Android tablet that can fit in the palm of your hand.
