Apple will prioritize adding Face ID and a telephoto lens to future iPhone Duo models, says BloombergIt’s Mark Gurman. The device debuted with Touch ID and dual rear cameras, likely due to physical constraints.
In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman says Apple will use a combination of component miniaturization and advances in AI to eventually integrate them into the third-generation iPhone Duo, “allowing Apple to use smaller, less sophisticated depth-sensing and camera hardware while making up some of the difference computationally,” he writes. The iPhone Duo will officially launch on October 23.
