This Chinese electric car will spray all power records

A new exceptional electric vehicle has just appeared in the documentation deposited by a Chinese manufacturer: say hello to the New version of the Yangwang U9a real monster that should reach 3,000 horsepower.

For those who do not know this machine, designed by the Chinese company byd, the current model is already unique. Thanks to an original suspension system, it is indeed capable of rotating on site or even making small jumps to avoid obstacles.

In the fall of 2024, the Chinese manufacturer byd-or more precisely its luxury branch Yangwang-unveiled the U9, a unique electric hypercar capable of pivoting on itself .. and even jumping to avoid obstacles.

Beyond these ultimately anecdotal features, it is also a monster of power. With no less than 1,288 horsepower spread over its four electric motors, it signed an impressive time of 7 minutes and 17 seconds on the legendary Nürburgring circuit.

An even more efficient model

But apparently, it is not yet enough for the Chinese firm. According to an article from Because News China relayed by New Atlasshe recently filed the documentation necessary to approve a new version, the Track Edition, with the Ministry of Industry and Chinese Information Technologies. The main difference: the 240 kW engines (322 hp) will apparently be replaced by models capable of developing 555 kW, the equivalent of 754 horsepower – More than double the original!

If necessary, this new U9 could therefore reach 3016 horseswhich would make it the most powerful electric car in the world. For reference, it is about three times more than the Tesla Model S Plaid, one of the most powerful “general public” electric cars on the market with 1,020 horsepower.

According to this same listing, it would offer him a top speed of 350 km/h. But that seems voluntarily very reducing, knowing that the current model has already exceeded 390 km/h during its visit to the Nordschleife. In this context, it can therefore be said without too much risk that this track Edition will undoubtedly spray the 400 km/h mark.

The release date of this ultra-exclusive car has not yet been announced. But it will be interesting to see how this U9 Track Edition will be able to panic the counters!
