A roundup of recent reviews from Woozad.
Whether it’s a productivity-focused laptop or the latest gimbal camera, our latest batch of reviews includes these gadgets and a few in between. We also tested a screen-free activity tracker, great-sounding headphones, and more. Read on to catch up on anything you may have missed over the past couple of weeks as we clear our desks for incoming reviews of the iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods.
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon generation 14
The ThinkPad has long been a workhorse for the Windows faithful. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 puts a modern twist on this familiar formula and works well for the most part.
“It’s fast, wonderfully light, and has a beautiful OLED display,” said lead writer Devindra Hardawar. “But if you’re looking for something a little sleeker, this probably isn’t for you. Lenovo is targeting the ThinkPad faithful with the X1 Carbon, and for the most part, I think they’ll be pleased.”
Insta360 Luna Pro
Insta360 pulled out all the stops with its first gimbal camera, the Luna Ultra. It was immediately clear that the company could compete with DJI, with the main advantage that its products were not banned in the United States. Now he’s back with the “normal” Luna Pro.
“The gap between Pro and Ultra is a little trickier,” said reviews author James Trew. “The $170 upgrade for the extra zoom lens isn’t huge, but enough to make it worth considering how much you actually need. But right now, the Luna Pro is the most flexible single-lens gimbal camera you can buy.”
Garmin Cirqa
Screenless activity trackers seem to be all the rage at the moment. There certainly seems to be value in having health information that doesn’t require a screen on the wrist. Enter the Garmin Cirqa.
“If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to a Whoop, then I’m not sure it does enough. Oops things to lure you in,” said lead writer Dan Cooper. “If you’re looking for a lightweight activity tracker, Garmin sells one for less money than it wants for the apparently less functional Cirqa. You’re left with half of a good product, separated from the other half, which would make it a worthwhile purchase.”
Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 5
Sennheiser’s Momentum headphones are still one of the best-performing sets you can buy. The company is continually crafting detailed and warm original tuning, and the audio profile is undoubtedly the best thing about the Momentum True Wireless 5.
“As is typically the case with Momentum True Wireless earbuds, the fifth-generation model still missed the mark in some respects,” I said. “There are a few serviceable audio quirks that I’d like to see the company address, but overall ANC performance and call quality both lag behind the best premium headphones.”
