The console does not come with a copy of Ocarina of Time.
After a mediocre reveal, Nintendo gave Zelda fans a glimpse of its The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake this morning and announced the release of a new Switch 2 colorway in honor of the franchise’s 40th anniversary. The console will arrive on October 29, a week before the remake releases on November 5.
Rather than an all-gold design like the one the company chose when releasing the Echoes of Wisdom Switch Lite in 2024, Nintendo has opted for a gold and metallic green color. Judging from the teaser released by the company, the Joy-Con 2 controllers in the new colorway will capture and reflect light in a subtle yet beautiful way.
They also feature careful detail. On the front of the left Joy-Con, you can see a Link sprite, dating from 1986. The Legend of Zelda, holding the Triforce. On the back of the right Joy-Con, there is a Zelda sprite. As for the dock, it is black and gold with a large Triforce pattern which is the main visual point of interest of the dock. Unfortunately, the console does not come with a copy of the Ocarina of time remake. This is a separate purchase, if you wish.
Along with the new console colorway, Nintendo plans to sell a matching carrying case (with screen protector), Switch 2 Pro controller, and gamepad stand. These accessories will also arrive on October 29 and will be available while supplies last. Expect stiff competition if you want to get the console and accessories.
