It adds flight price tracking, hotel booking, and a way to view the cost in miles or points for the chatbot.
Google is bringing some travel planning features to AI mode in search today. One of them is the Google Flights price tracker. The company says you can tell the chatbot where you want to fly and when, and it will present you with options from more than 300 airlines and travel sites.
If you then ask AI Mode to track prices, Google will email you when they change for your intended destination and travel dates. The company says this feature is now available in all locations and languages where AI mode is available, with the exception of countries and territories in the European Economic Area.
Users around the world can now use AI mode to check how much a flight or hotel costs in miles or points. Again, you just need to tell the chatbot where and when you want to travel and you will see the cost of the flight in miles. For hotels, tell AI Mode you want to see the reward point cost. This feature will initially work for Alaska Airlines/Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels International, Hilton and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts options. Support for Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines and Lufthansa Group will be available soon.
Speaking of hotels, you will also be able to book a stay through AI mode. After you enter your trip details and preferences, Google will display hotel options alongside customer reviews. You will be able to make a reservation using Google Pay. This will initially be available in the US in English and will work with a range of partner sites including Expedia, Marriott International and Priceline. Google plans to roll it out in the coming weeks.
