Apple this month began selling refurbished and certified Studio Display XDR models in the United States for the first time since the display’s release in March. Availability extends to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Japan and some other countries.
A refurbished Studio Display XDR with a VESA mount adapter and standard glass is priced at $2,459, compared to $2,899 for the equivalent new configuration. This equates to a 15% discount, which is typical for Apple’s refurbished products.
A refurbished model with a tilt- and height-adjustable stand and standard glass costs $2,799, down from $3,299, which is also a 15 percent reduction.
Refurbished models with nano-textured glass are also available at a discounted price.
Apple says it subjects refurbished products to “comprehensive functionality testing” and a “thorough cleaning and inspection process,” and that they are backed by Apple’s one-year limited warranty and eligible for extended AppleCare+ coverage. In our opinion, Apple refurbished devices are virtually indistinguishable from new devices.
