There are some new features to celebrate.
Google’s deep search tool, NotebookLM, is getting a new name to sit better alongside the rest of Google’s AI tools. Starting today, the service will be called Gemini Notebook, although it remains a standalone product from the rest of Gemini – at least for now. Along with the name change, the search giant made some under-the-hood improvements, such as the ability to write and run code natively. In this way, it is possible to carry out complex data analysis based only on the data collected as part of your own research.
Additionally, Google announces that it will soon add the ability to bring laptops created in this system in AI mode into the regular old Google search. The company adds that NotebookLM Gemini Notebook now has more than 30 million individual users, as well as more than 600,000 organizations. The decision to bring the branding in line with the rest of Gemini isn’t much of a surprise, given that Google fully integrated the tool into the Gemini app back in April.
