French music platform Deezer has launched a free online tool capable of detecting AI-generated tracks in Apple Music playlists, as well as in playlists created on other streaming platforms.
“No other company has yet followed our lead, so we decided to allow everyone to check if their playlists include synthetic music, regardless of the streaming platform they use,” Alexis Lanternier, CEO of Deezer, said in a statement. “A large majority of people want to know if AI music is recommended to them and our data shows that almost half of users joining Deezer from another platform have AI tracks in their playlists. We hope our AI music detector will be an eye-opening experience for listeners around the world.
The tool works with 20 different platforms, including Spotify, SoundCloud and YouTube Music. To use it, visit the Deezer AI Music Detector site, select your streaming service, then grant Deezer permission to access it. The tool will import your playlists, scan them for AI content, and alert you to any suspicious tracks.
Apple rolled out a metadata system called Transparency Tags in March, which indicates when AI was used in the creation of music hosted on the platform. The only problem is that the tags are optional, so Apple is essentially asking artists and record labels to voluntarily tag songs created using AI.
Deezer reports that it receives more than 60,000 fully AI-generated tracks every day, with synthetic content now making up around 39% of all music streamed on the platform. Up to 85% of AI-generated music streams were fraudulent in 2025, according to Deezer data.
