iOS 27 was released in September 2026, bringing a ton of new Apple Intelligence features, including Apple’s big Siri AI overhaul. While these big changes will certainly be exciting for some users, people who appreciate the little things in life will be happy to know that Apple has added a series of small updates to improve the way you use its apps. This includes new features in Apple Wallet and even some significant updates to Apple Weather (via 9to5Mac).
The changes coming to Apple Weather are certainly more modest, but they’ll take two features you’ve already been able to use and bring them closer to your fingertips. In addition to being able to see the temperature forecast for the next few days, you will now be able to view rain and wind forecasts directly from the Apple Weather app home page. Previously, you had to navigate the app’s menus to find this information, such as tapping on specific days to see the rain forecast. This should make it easier to use the full breadth of information the Weather app offers without having to learn lots of different shortcuts.
You’ll also now be able to see the Precipitation and Wind sections next to the Conditions view, which you previously could view from the Apple Weather home page. This should bring Apple’s Weather app closer to some of the best weather apps on the market. To see each of them, simply tap the new rain and wind icons, which will switch between the available views. Each of the views will show you hourly and 10-day forecasts, giving you immediate and future insight into what’s to come.
Other weather apps may still have something to offer

Depending on how you plan to use the Weather app, you may still want to opt for one of the more popular alternatives. Weathergraph, which has a 4.2-star rating on the App Store, offers similar features, including a breakdown of hourly forecasts on your iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac. It also offers several types of detailed widgets, with some users writing in their reviews that they provide the most information at a glance across different weather apps, which is ideal if you need to constantly be aware of the changing weather.
Another solid option you might want to consider is Foreca Weather & Radar. This app has over 5,000 ratings and currently has an average rating of 4.8 stars on the App Store. The developers offer an assortment of widgets with detailed information, as well as a ton of customization to help you make the app your own. This is one area where Apple’s app is still somewhat lacking, even with updates. So if you want to customize your phone as much as possible, Foreca might be a solid option to keep in mind.
The two third-party apps above offer wind and rain forecasts like Apple Weather, and you can even see probability forecasts up to 15 days out in apps like Foreca. So if the 10 days of the Apple Weather app doesn’t seem like enough time for you, you can always try Foreca instead.
