Why is Tukif (kif.tube) blocked in France?
Since the beginning of April 2025, the tukif porn site (also known as kif.tube) has set up an age check system to comply with the requirements of the Arcom. This device offers several methods to prove its majority, in particular the sending of a selfie analyzed by artificial intelligence or the presentation of an identity document, all in compliance with the principle of “double anonymity”.
However, despite this compliance, the site remains partially blocked in France by certain internet access providers. This blocking persists while waiting for an official evaluation of the efficiency of the verification system implemented by Tukif. Once this positive evaluation is obtained, the Arch will be able to request the blocking.
There are serious questions as to the reliability of the verification system allegedly based on the principle of double anonymity, in particular due to the nature of the requested data, which allow almost certain identification of the user. However, it remains possible to bypass these restriction measures by using a VPN.
