It includes a translucent green Series X, a similarly colored controller, and a digital download of Halo: Campaign Evolved.
Xbox has finally opened pre-orders for its 25th Anniversary Collector’s Pack. This combo pack includes a limited edition translucent green Xbox Series Halo: Campaign Evolved.
The whole thing costs $900. That sounds like a lot of money, and it is, but it’s worth noting that a standard Series This current RAM crisis is not playing a role.
Beyond the color, each anniversary edition console is individually numbered with a unique engraving. The controller and console also feature the Xbox 25 logo.
Pre-orders are currently only available to some of the franchise’s “most dedicated fans.” Check your email to see if you made the cut. Everyone will be able to pre-order on August 27 at 10 a.m. ET. The console will ship on November 15, almost 25 years to the day after the initial launch.
If you don’t have $900 burning a hole in your pocket, there is another option. The company itself sells the Anniversary Controller for $80. Xbox also announced partnerships with several accessory makers, all of whom are making hardware to celebrate the console’s anniversary.
I’d also be remiss if I didn’t put my glasses on for a second and note that the original Xbox wasn’t translucent green, nor was the first controller. They were completely black with slight green accents. The transparent green look didn’t really come into play until a special edition console was released in 2004. However, some members of the original design team received translucent green consoles in 2001, featuring Bill Gates’ signature.
